Lantern Roar Rhythm
Player guide

Follow the cues, strike the three surfaces

Choose one of three patterns. Lantern Walk is slower and leaves more space; Market Parade adds rim changes; Final Roar is faster and uses all three surfaces more often. Press Start Practice and wait for the four metronome count-in beats. Colored symbols then move toward the white hit line.

Controls

Keyboard events and touch or pointer input use the same scoring path. A pad is disabled before a pattern starts so an accidental tap cannot create a misleading result. Free Drum mode opens the pads without cues or scoring.

Reading the timing score

Perfect covers the narrowest timing window, Great is slightly wider, and Good accepts the outer playable window. Pressing the wrong surface or striking outside the window breaks the current combo. When a cue passes untouched, it becomes a Miss. At the end, weighted accuracy combines the points from every expected cue. Mean offset reports the average signed difference for successful hits: negative is early and positive is late.

Device limitation: Milliseconds are an estimate from the browser clock. Bluetooth, screen refresh, keyboard scanning, touch processing, and operating-system scheduling can shift the number. Compare runs on the same setup instead of treating it as an absolute measurement.

Calibration

Select Calibrate Audio Input and tap any pad at each of eight audible clicks. The median signed difference is clamped to a small safe range and stored in local browser storage. The offset adjusts later cue matching. If the result feels worse, calibrate again or clear this site’s stored data. Calibration does not use the microphone and does not analyze recorded audio.

Accessibility options

Every cue has a label, shape, and color. Low Flash shortens pad highlight feedback and removes decorative transition effects. Sound Off leaves the visual highway active. Operating-system reduced-motion preferences are honored. On narrow screens, controls become a single-column stack with large targets. If a visual, motor, hearing, or keyboard barrier remains, please use the contact route to report it.

Completing and replaying a run

The pattern ends after its last cue. The result card shows accuracy, hits, best combo, mean offset, and early versus late counts. Replay keeps the selected pattern and saved calibration. Choosing another pattern changes tempo and cue sequence. Your highest accuracy for each pattern remains only in this browser.
